Triple Triad is the challenging card game from the hit PlayStation game, Final Fantasy 8. In the game, you will play with specially designed cards bearing representations of enemies, bosses and other hero and support characters. This card game from Final Fantasy 8 gives you an opportunity to collect special cards through the killing of monsters in the fields or playing NPCs throughout the world. You are free to compose your deck with your choice of cards and this makes this game a special one where you can challenge anyone with your customized deck like many collectible card games.

How to start playing?

In general, your success in the game will depend upon your ability to pick a winning deck relative to the rule set that you are playing with. First of all, try to choose a good starting deck. When you first start the Final Fantasy 8 game on your PlayStation console, you can get your starter deck at the Balamb Garden.

Challenging a Card Player

Challenging other players in this card game is not that difficult. You simply press the SQUARE button. Another card player or regular NPC in the game is more likely to accept your challenge. If the player won’t accept your challenge, he will interact with you generally. Sometimes certain conditions in the storyline must be present before you can play with certain NPCs.

Basic Gaming Strategy

While you will start playing the game of Triple Triad, the biggest challenge perhaps you will face is the constantly changing game rules. If you want to win the game, you will definitely need strong cards but sometimes stacking your deck with level 9 and level 10 cards will work against you because of the non-power based rules (IE. same, plus, and wall).

Triple Triad has several basic rules such as Sudden Death and Elemental and only possession of strong cards can make you a winner. You can simply play stronger cards than your opponent has and he will fail to beat you. But when more advanced rules such as Plus, Random or Same Wall is applied, you will need a better strategy to survive in the game. In such cases, you will prefer to play defensively and strategically as opposed to attempting to dominate all the cards on the board.

With that being said, most times the best strategy is to play defensively. There is no reason trying to beat each card that your opponent player plays. Be patient and wait and play. Your desperate moves can reveal your gaming plan to your opponent player and he will be able to plan a strategy well ahead you can think anything. Draw your opponent player to play his own cards first, and then place your cards strategically to make a winning move.

While placing your cards on the board, remember that corners are normally the safest places while the center spot is clearly the most vulnerable. Thus, plan your moves accordingly assessing the strength of your cards.
